Nadoos DVD INSERT
Summer Uni 2009 & 2008
High impact summer program providing a range of interactive sessions for young people aged 12 – 25 years. Activities include: dance, music, personal development, choir & singing. All activities focus on team building, developing confidence, raising self esteem and promoting self worth.
Summer Academy 2007
A partnership of local organisations, demonstrating their commitment, to the community by providing activities for young people.
Health & Social Care
In 2007 Health & Social Care Students from John Ruskin College attended a 2 day Action learning event. Students were given the opportunity to experience first hand the value of their NVQ qualifications by interacting with staff working in both a nursery and Adult care setting. Students and staff exchanged experiences and best practise as well as career discussion and aspirations.

March 2005 a youth-led consultation event addressing school exclusions for which over 20 young people were trained in IT skills, Research skills, Video/film editing & production, Public speaking, Sound/studio engineering, Interviewing techniques, Event management, Lobbying, Recording statistics.
The young people worked together to manage the event which attracted over 100 people and was supported by stakeholders who included representatives from the Education department, the Youth Service, the local MPs office and other youth agencies
Youth Arts Plus
A capacity building project funded by ESF with match funding from the participating organisations ran from October 2003 to February 2004, with Croydon Peoples Housing Association, (CPHA) British Gospel Arts (BGA) and P J’s Community Services. A 20 week program, during which the young people were taught dance, performance skills, music technology and video editing, culminating in a showcase event at the Croydon Clock tower where the young people performed using their new skills.
IT & Arts Project
In 2003 a 6 week training course designed for young people, sessions include IT skills, studio engineering and CD production. The young people organised a mini enterprise and were able to generate funds from the enterprise. A showcase performance was organised at the end of the course .
Edge Cities Youth Media
Funded by the European Social Fund via Croydon Council. - In 2002-2003 PJ’s represented Croydon, England as an edge city (a city on the edge of London). The project involved the young people using technology to produce music across 3 other edge cities (Denmark, Greece & Sweden). This concluded in a live performance in Denmark.
2003 young people took part in a singing competition organised by Talkgospel.com. This included writing and recording a song. The finalists were invited to sing at a competition in Fairfield Halls, Croydon. Ryan Carty won the Best Male vocalist of the year.
